Richard advises a broad range of clients, including property owners, developers, businesses and investors, on property, commercial and regulatory matters. His experience spans property transactions, development projects, leasing arrangements, commercial agreements, property disputes and a range of strategic commercial issues.

He has advised both private and public sector clients in the areas of planning, development, environmental law, compulsory acquisition, compensation and liquor licensing. Richard has appeared in the Environment, Resources and Development Court, Licensing Court and Supreme Court of South Australia, representing clients in planning appeals, enforcement proceedings, judicial review applications and licensing matters.

Richard has particular expertise in compulsory acquisition and compensation matters, acting for landowners affected by the acquisition of land for major infrastructure and public projects. He advises clients on compensation entitlements, valuation issues, negotiations with acquiring authorities and Supreme Court proceedings, helping clients achieve fair and practical outcomes throughout the acquisition process.

Prior to joining Adco Legal, Richard practised at leading national and South Australian law firms, where he advised clients on a broad range of property, commercial and dispute resolution matters. His experience across both transactional and litigious work enables him to provide commercially focused advice that is practical, strategic and responsive to his clients’ objectives.
